School Uniform

All pupils attending Bradfield CE Primary School are expected to wear full school uniform at all times as detailed below.  We ask that all uniforms are clearly labelled with your child’s name.  School uniform is an important part of our school identity, it ensures our pupils have a sense of belonging and makes them take pride in their appearance.

At Bradfield CE Primary we believe in and promote equity for our pupils.  Where pupils have sensory needs amendments can be made to the uniform on a case by case basis in agreement with the Headteacher or SENCO.

In order to help us return lost items of clothing and equipment, please ensure everything brought to school is named.

Uniform

  • Blue sweatshirt or cardigan with or without school logo
  • White polo shirt with or without school logo (no tie)
  • Grey trousers or shorts
  • Grey skirts or pinafore dresses
  • In the summer, blue and white gingham dresses
  • Black, white or grey plain socks
  • White or grey plain tights (Y6 can wear black)
  • Black sensible shoes (NOT trainers, sandals or boots)

Weather Appropriate Clothing

Please ensure your child has a coat in school in cold wet weather and a sun hat in hot weather.

Wellies can be worn to and from school in wet or snowy weather but must be changed in school. Please make sure they are named.

PE Kit

Indoor PE:

  • Plain white T-shirt, with or without the school logo (No buttons please)
  • Navy blue shorts

Outdoor PE:

  • Plain white T-shirt, with or without the school logo (No buttons please)
  • Navy blue shorts
  • Navy blue or black, plain, warm long sleeved tracksuit top and trousers

Swimming

  • Swimming trunks, jammers, one piece swimming costume (NO Bermuda shorts)

Pierced Ears:

Children with pierced ears may wear small stud earrings but these will need to be removed for PE.  If this is not possible they will need to cover them with micro pore tape provided from home and kept in your child’s PE bag.  Ideally children should be able to manage this independently, staff will help with applying micro pore tape but are unable to assist with removing/inserting earrings.

Watches/Fitbits:

These should be removed, independently, for PE.  The school takes no responsibility for less or damage to these iems.

Hair and Accessories

  • Long hair must be tied back, this is for health and safety reasons and helps to prevent the spread of head lice
  • Plain hair bands, ribbons or scrunchies only
  • No jewellery (other than small, plain stud earrings), transfers, make-up or nail varnish
  • Book bags for Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2.
  • Years 3 to 6 can bring their PE kit and books in a bag/backpack (but please restrict the size)
  • Nails should be kept short
